Properties:
white or offwhite powder, odorless or almost odorless,
slight bitter, with moisture absorption, easily soluble
in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in
chloroform.
Indication: treatment
of tularemia, plague, severe brucelosis and maliasmus
(usually used together with tetracycline and chloromycetin);
second-line treatment of tuberculosis, usually used
together with other antibuberculotic.
